How To Optimize Your Content

(00:02):

Good morning, everyone. It's Jen Kilbourne Obermeier - welcome.

It's Thursday, April 9th. I've been doing daily or near daily live videos or some type of upload video on a second page, Jen Obermeier.

But I'm also cross posting this live broadcast to my Pro Organizer Studio page as well, just because I can that is something that is available on Facebook Live.

If you own two pages, you can do both.

This morning - I have almost a message that I want to share.

Even though I definitely scheduled this video as an SEO tips video, which is, seems the complete opposite of sharing a message about purpose and passion and what you were doing with your life and business now.

But I feel I'm having a revelation this morning about what it is I'm even doing here with the two pages and what really matters to me now.

(01:05):

So in case you are joining me over from Pro Organizer Studio, I am sharing online business tips at just a second page called Jen Kilbourne Obermeier  - not ever creative over here, but that is for anybody.

This page is giving tips for anybody in my network in general, not just professional organizers who are working on some type of online business project, whether that's a blog, creating a course, creating a YouTube channel doing videos or some aspect of your business online, even if it's temporary or this is, you see this as a time to work on a project that you've had on your list for a while.

So definitely keep following me over on Jen Kilbourne Obermeier if you want to hear more about that, but today I promised, or I scheduled in advance.

It was the first time that I actually scheduled a day in advance, because I said, we're going to talk about SEO. We are going to talk about SEO, but I want to open up with my deep thought of the day.

(02:04):

And this is definitely relevant to the professional organizers listening to me now, too.

Here is something I've been having so many amazing conversations with people, behind the scenes over the past week or two.

And something just came together for me this morning.

And I think it's really relevant to everyone listening.

So in for Pro Organizer Studio and Inspired Organizer, my students we have been working on several different ways to adapt and support professional organizing businesses now.

And I was just talking to somebody yesterday, how people tend to fall into a couple of different categories and all of these are good and all of these are valid, but there are some people now who are just - yay, this is a time when I'm not crazy booked out with clients that I can just focus and work on the back end, the systems of my business.

(02:59):

Good morning, Suzanne. I'm glad you're there!

I can work on the back end of my business, whether that's client work flows or my finances - taking this time to just take a break, take a breather, and then strengthen the infrastructure of their business.

So that when things start going again, that you were really ready to go, because you got the behind the scenes really working as well as possible.

And then there's another set of people who for different reasons for example, they are looking for ways to adapt to working with clients remotely.

And to that end, there's a, there's a number of different reasons why you might want to do that.

But what I think I'm starting to realize is that the people who, the difference between the people who are working on the back end of their business and then really investing a lot into the front end, whether they are doing virtual organizing sessions.

(03:53):

I mean, yes, it's hard to understand how you could work with a professional organizer virtually, but I am trying to give guidance and support to people who are looking to do that, whether they are doing it because they want to continue to build brand and visibility in their community and thinking about the long term whether they are doing it just to continue working with clients whose projects are currently on hold, that's also viable or there are people who are doing it, who are - I'm going to just do it for free to, in order to get better at it and then be able to charge for it in the long run.

So it's a, it represents a way for them to make money.

Hey Anna, I can see your comment by the way guys.

I said I was posting this on two pages at the same time, so I believe I'm only seeing the comments on Jen Kilbourne Obermeier.

So if you are commenting on the Pro Organizer Studio page, thank you so much.

And I will definitely follow up and make sure that I see your comments later.

Ironic because this is really related to my, to my topic today.

We, I was talking to somebody yesterday and she was - I got to be honest with you.

I don't want to do virtual organizing.

I don't, that doesn't really appeal to me.

I don't feel I'd be good at it.

I have other things.

(05:06):

No.

And now there's nothing to be guilty about.

However you are choosing to spend your time now especially with an existing business, not everybody wants to go start a whole new side of their business that they don't intend to stick with long term.

But what I was realizing was is that the people who are responding by, showing up and doing new video content, this is what I've been talking about over the past few weeks, people who are doing new video content, obviously I'm one of those because that's what I'm doing now.

And it doesn't make a lot of sense on paper because I'm not making any money doing this.

I don't intend to charge anybody for this.

And what was the third reason?

I have three reasons, but those are the two.

(05:53):

It doesn't make any sense on paper.

Oh, the third reason is because it's not the most efficient thing in the world because it distracts me from my main thing, which I've spent so much time building and I have all this, structure and support with it.

And so I can understand why some people in my life, or if this is you, some people in your life are - so what is your game plan for this?

And I was thinking about this morning.

And I'm - my game plan is, that this is not about getting money in the bank now, but this is giving me, or giving me immediate feedback that what I what I am doing and what I care about still matters to someone else.

So I think what I was, I think - what I was realizing this morning is that this whole crisis, everything it is, it is showing me about myself that while I always realized before - yes, I am somebody who - I can raise my hand and say loud, I'm proud.

(06:53):

I love external validation.

I being able to see, to hear to sense in a very real way.

I'm a very visual person.

I being able to see you guys comment and hear and hear - Hey, this was really helpful.

It doesn't matter whether I'm getting paid to do it or not.

My sense of purpose now is has shifted because what I - I'll just be super honest with you.

My thing, my main business or what I, what I'm, <laugh> I said, what on paper?

You're - well, you should continue investing in that thing.

It's - yes, I am.

And I don't intend to abandon that.

But now I think what I realize is that I am having this crisis of, is that relevant now?

(07:40):

It, or am I feeling a sense of, irrelevancy?

And so therefore I need to have something else that I am doing.

That shows me in a very real way.

What my, what my purpose, not what my purpose is, but it shows me that I, that I still matter to somebody and that I am not just not just saying in my mind - oh yeah, I know they still appreciate me.

It gives me something very tangible to look at.

And so for example, for the professional organizers, I'm organizing this huge effort of people who are willing to give away virtual organizing sessions for free and Pro Organizer Studio is putting money behind ads to promote those people.

And the reason why I am doing that and why I think that they're doing that is because if they know that they can connect with somebody who needs them and values their, brain and their experience and however that you can help each other still I mean, I said help each other because definitely the clients are helping you too, but, you can still provide so much value.

(08:41):

And if you can just see that it doesn't, it doesn't as much matter if you're getting paid for that today, because if you're investing in your sense of purpose, if there's not, if you do not have an automatic feedback loop already set up in your life, that where it's - I don't need to have an external validation of my sense of purpose.

I mean, I'll just tell you, I don't have - I don't have that naturally set up.

So what I am doing now is a, it is feeding my - I'm not crying, I'm just excited.

It's, feeding my soul in the sense that as long as I can still see and hear and be able to sense in a real way that what I am doing and what I am sharing matters, then that gives me the energy to keep going on all of those, behind the scenes goals, I can go back and work on my financial systems or whatever those behind the scenes projects are.

(09:31):

So neither one is right or wrong.

I just want to - encourage you to think today that if you have felt over the past few days - some days I'm doing really good and other days - I feel crappy.

Is that the reason why - do, are you getting the verbal feedback, the visual feedback - however, this is making - whatever your love language is now is making it super obvious...

Because you're - well, if I'm not getting it now, for whatever reason, because of a lack of social interaction, a lack of physical touch if you're not getting a lot of that, then now, what your love language is, if you didn't know it before.

I would really ask yourself, are you, are you doing, I'm not asking you to go and give away your knowledge for free, just for the sake of giving something away to somebody in need.

(10:19):

It's not really about that.

It's just that if you don't, if you're not doing something that is still showing you, yes, you still matter, then you are going to lose the energy and motivation to keep doing all those hard business building activities.

That's on paper.

It makes a lot more sense for you to just do that.

So that's what I'm - yeah.

<laugh> Kate said, Kate said she loves being validated.

That what I'm sharing is helping people live easier, more enjoyable lives.

I feel that way too.

And now I got to tell you guys, an even more - very specific, I'm being very vulnerable with you by sharing this, because this is not a story I would normally ever tell.

But a few days ago a few days ago I was on, I was on a coaching call, I was doing the coaching call and I tend to - I never use that time to talk about myself, obviously, because somebody's paying me to focus on them and their business.

(11:15):

I take that very seriously, but this person said in words, and I could see her face and she said it verbally <laugh>, because we're on a Zoom call and she said it verbally she said a, she gave me a compliment.

That was so - just cut to the heart of, just being able to say - Hey, I see you and what you're doing matters.

And it was so it hit me so hard.

Of course I started crying.

But hit me so hard because it made me realize, oh, that's the thing that I'm not getting now.

<laugh> You know what I mean?

Just a sense of - this is amazing.

People are - I know this makes a huge difference to people or that we see you and we hear you or whatever.

(12:04):

So anyway, I'm not saying that because I want to hear that necessarily from every single person, but even just hearing it from one person that gave me back - wow, a sense of motivation and wanting to keep going and wanting to keep pouring into, everything that goes into business building and here, and here's the funny part.

So out of all the years that I've been doing Zoom calls, I screwed this one up.

And I don't, I can tell, I can guess why it was definitely a technical problem because we had to get off of Zoom and onto a Facebook messenger, video call.

And so I record my coaching calls so that my client can have the audio afterwards.

And so I was - I'm recording on this one still.

So we kept talking and I was - oh good.

(12:51):

I will be able to go back and listen to what she actually said when that, just that one little minute of our whole hour where she, gave me that compliment.

I was - I just need to listen to that on repeat every day, because that's all I need.

It's all I need to keep going.

And I messed up the audio.

Um and so what happened is my audio recorded?

So she still can get that, whatever I said, obviously in my coaching part, but her audio did not record.

And I was just - that is such a slap in the face to myself.

<laugh>  It's the one time I want to listen them back to something.

And so I even got that clip of the video and I researched online.

I was - is there a lip reading service where they can just look at that one minute and just transcribe - what is it that she said, because that meant the world to me.

(13:46):

And I did find this guy and he only charges $130 an hour with a two hour minimum.

And am I considering paying that? Yes, I am considering paying that.

However, I will put out a call, if anybody has a deaf friend or family member who is just really good at reading lips with, and I can give some context about what it was about.

Please put me in touch with them because I will gladly pay probably a lot.

But for a minute long video, $260 is a lot to handle.

But anyway, just that was a side note, but that was showing me what did I learn about myself in that situation?

What I learned about myself in that situation is  - do I need to wait for somebody else to tell me these things?

Or do I need to do I need to just - I said, save - when somebody sends me a nice message, I need to save that and then I need to proactively read it or I need to proactively listen back to this clip.

(14:44):

From the other day, if I can ever get anyway, I'll just watch it on silent.

And I'll just know that she was saying the nicest thing I've ever heard.

But that's something that you, you've got to decide how you're going to do, because maybe you don't have - I <laugh>, maybe you don't maybe your spouse or your kids or your, mom or whoever, those close people are in your life that you are dying for that positive feedback from maybe they don't give it in the way that you really want to hear it.

And does that make sense?

We don't have to get real personal, but sometimes the people we love the most are not able to say, "Hey, I see you doing an amazing job."

"This is unbelievable."

"This is making a huge impact on people because they just don't necessarily understand why, you do it and what you do."

(15:26):

So that's one reason why.

So for my professional organizers out there now who are giving away virtual sessions, what I love is that you can see the person on video.

You can see them make maybe making progress in their house or whatever area you're working from.

And then of course get, hopefully this extreme gratitude back to you in a form that shows you what I'm doing still matters.

And I don't want to stop and just give up my whole business just because, just because nobody's paying me money now.

If the way that you measure, whether you're doing a good job is whether somebody's paying you money now, that's going to suck for a while?

And I'm not saying nobody's making money at all and I'm not saying you can't sell anything at all.

But - if that is your normal measure of how you're doing, that's going to be inefficient at this moment in time.

(16:19):

When you do have the opportunity to build, your brand, build your business, build whatever you have going on.

Make sure that there's a balance somewhere of - I don't need to do just spend all day long, giving away free help to people.

That's probably too much, but I need to be doing something where I'm, getting that feedback loop of - yes, you matter, yes, this is making an impact.

So yeah, Kate said preach it.

I definitely I'm a, in case y'all didn't now I am a daughter of two ministers.

So this is in my blood somewhere where it's just - I get very impassioned about a certain thing and I'm sure I'm going to have more to say about this, but if you're interested last, week, I did a whole video about productivity tips during stressful times.

(17:11):

And I touched on it a little bit where I was - you have to consider how all the parts of your life are working together.

And because YOU are the system of things that are happening.

And if you don't take care of what fuels and feeds the system, and today I'm specifically talking about positive feedback and having a sense of purpose and being able to see it and feel it and touch it and make it as real as possible is, critical either you have that set up or you have transcended the need for it, and you are truly internally, you only need internal validation of you're doing a great job.

This is amazing.

You're really smart.

If you have that feedback loop going in your head all the time, then maybe you don't need as much of this.

(18:00):

And you can just confidently just step back and say, yes, I'm going in my hole.

And I'm going to work on practical matters during this time and I'm going to work on my house and then, we're going to get through this and it's all going to be and people will still need me, or I'll still be able to do my thing later, which is true.

It is true.

But if you are, but if you're not feeling, if you're not feeling it, that I think that might be a reason.

Why is because either you're looking for validation from the wrong person, or you're not doing something where you can just give your gifts.

Because it's really a part of our mental health.

Xiomara said, I feel my clients and I are creating a stronger bond and that they are loving this.

(18:41):

Kate said we are sowing seeds, building foundations and validating the bigger why of how we are helping the world.

Suzanne said, people still aren't using my services for virtual.

You got to keep talking about it and sharing it and making sure that women or women and men, but whoever women who need you are hearing about it, sharing in the moms groups in your, in your area.

I can, I can go back and talk about that.

Just in, Inspired Organizer for those people who are doing that.

So we don't go too much into it now, but - here's the thing, here's the thing.

And this is why we're coming back.

And we're talking about SEO: search engine optimization is the most nerdy topic in the world.

It is a way to make sure that the things that you're doing are, getting enough visibility so that you're creating that feedback loop.

(19:34):

If you just started an online project or you're doing online videos, you can only do so much before you're just - oh my God, is anybody listening?

Does this really matter?

Well, you can be putting out the greatest content in the world, but if people are not finding it where they are looking for it, they're not going to they're, not going to connect with you.

And working on this SEO stuff is a way to ensure that, while I cannot guarantee - I cannot guarantee to anybody let me hang on.

Let me back up a second.

I'm still preaching.

<laugh> In the online business world, there are a lot of promises that reel you in.

Here's how to make your first thousand dollars in an online course in 30 days or whatever, making back your money and making back your investment and making sure that - obviously you're not just losing money.

(20:26):

Yes, that's important now.

And maybe this is a reason why I'm just teaching this for free now, because I feel people need the information without paying.

I don't want to charge you for this because so much of this is already out there.

It's just a matter of knowing where to go for different resources.

So while I'm not, I'm not guaranteeing you anything because I'm not charging you anything.

What, I can say is I can help you get that feedback loop of what you're doing matters.

You matter.

And it matters to people and people are watching it and people are liking it and sharing it.

I can help you get that in a day.

<laugh> And so if I can help you invest in that sense of purpose and feeling that it matters, then you can keep going long term with all the harder stuff.

(21:12):

But if I'm telling you to pour out your heart and put out your best content out there, and I'm NOT telling you how to get visibility to it as fast as possible, then you're going to be - yeah, I tried that and it sucked and I felt stupid and nobody watched my videos and nobody ever commented and nobody ever liked my page and nobody ever followed my YouTube channel.

So that is, that's what this - is, it's an invisible bank account that you have to invest in the sense of purpose, how it, how it matters to you.

So with that being said, let me move into the SEO tips.

And then of course - I'll take questions if I can see them again, if you are joining in and I'm doing this on two pages, I might not see your comments on the Pro Organizer Studio page.

(21:53):

I'm only seeing the feed on Jen Kilbourne Obermeier.

So let me hydrate.

Oh, so I learned a tip today about SEO for YouTube.

That honestly made me want to cry because I was - that's amazing.

And I never knew this before and it makes me love the Internet so much and now I'm going to share it with you and you're going to love me so much.

And as we know now, because I've revealed it to you, that is important to me.

It doesn't matter that you give me credit.

I just want you to, feel it in your heart.

So speaking of credit, where credit is due I, for Pro Organizer Studio, I use a digital marketing team.

Her name is Caitlin Strempel.

Oh, well, she's the owner, she's the owner of this marketing agency. And they do SEO for us.

(22:48):

This is something that I outsource or have been outsourcing for, well over a year with her.

But in, bits and pieces, even before that, because there SEO is a very complicated topic, because there are a lot of technical details to learn about it.

But some of the most basic things are things that you can do yourself.

So I want to touch on a few of those things today and I'm also going to share a resource that Caitlin Strempel - Hey girl, I hope that you're out there.

Maybe. You definitely will be after I tag you in this video.

But I'm going to share a resource that she put together about specifically about setting up SEO for a YouTube channel.

So here's why this matters as we, as we said before why this matters is you can put out great content on YouTube, but if you're not putting in tags and search terms, YouTube is a search engine, so people are searching on there probably now, especially for, free video content of all kinds.

(23:47):

And in other chats on this page we've talked about, and this, I keep referring back to the Content Snowball, which is you're creating, you're creating video content on Facebook.

You're, re-uploading it to YouTube.

That's - a pillar strategy of how you can build an audience fast because while you're doing it on Facebook, it's great.

But if you're not uploading it to YouTube, is where people are actually searching.

So that's how you're going to find new people.

Miral's giving me a really sweet compliment.

Thank you.

Miral I love you so much, you mean the world to me.

So while so we're talking about, so we're talking about YouTube and why that's important.

So if we, if that is not well established in your mind we can revisit you revisit a past I'll link back to the past chat about that.

(24:35):

So a few days ago, one of the requested topics was let's talk a little bit more about YouTube SEO.

So I got a, I have a resource from Caitlin that I will share so you can get into it.

But here's the thing is, here's why this matters.

If you're not ranking quickly, if you're not, if you're putting up videos and you're not ranking quickly or not being seen quickly by an audience that is looking for similar information, you will start to feel this is a waste of time.

I'm sitting in front of my computer for no reason, and this is all a waste.

And that is the last thing I want.

I want you to build that sense of purpose and that feedback loop very fast.

So here are a few things that I learned from her this morning.

Well, one, of them I knew and the other one I did not know, and it's so good.

(25:17):

So on YouTube, there are two different ways essentially that you can make sure that when somebody is searching for your video and I need to use a different topic.

That's not professional organizers because on this other page, we're not only talking about organizers, but - let's say that you're a coach now.

You're just a, general executive coach life coach, because I have a lot of those people in this network too.

And you have a specific topic that you have started doing live videos on Facebook about.

So you're uploading it to YouTube.

You want to be connecting with people who are looking for information about career change or coping with retirement or early retire, whatever, your topic is that as a business coach or a career coach, that your that essentially that you're, talking about often and that you want to be known for and that you want to be found for don't waste time creating content.

(26:13):

That is not what you want to be known for because eventually it will get found and then people will be - oh, there, that person is a resource.

And then if they go to your website and it's totally different, totally different offer or type of coaching, then that is a wasted lead or at least not, the most efficient thing to do.

So when you go over to, when you go over to YouTube, what you want to do is start searching for some of your general topics and seeing who else is already on YouTube.

That has a big following, good Lord. I'm sweating a lot this morning.

A big following a big following or, and, or is, publishing content pretty regularly.

If you guys are spending time on YouTube, that it's been around a while and there are a lot of old stuff on there that still, that has thousands of views, millions of views.

(27:05):

It's still being seen because it's being found when people are searching in the search bar.

So I - want you to find two types of competitors if you will, and we're not going to call, we're just going to call them, they're not competitors.

It is a competitor because you anyway, maybe you're not selling the same thing, but let's say essentially that they already have the audience that you - want, or you believe that the type of person who is watching their videos would also your videos, that there is at least some crossover.

So let's not say competitors, let's call them unknowing collaborators.

I don't know.

Maybe eventually you want to knowingly collaborate - by the way that would be another great topic for another video.

But anyway let's, I want you to - find people who have the most views, all time views and you can filter this in the search in YouTube, all time views, whether the content was seven years old or not, does not matter the most, all time views for a particular keyword.

(28:09):

That is one of your keywords people or the people who are the most recent, who, are uploading consistent recent content on those keywords and are getting some decent visibility on it.

For example, I was looking up once I learned this tab, I was looking up a guy who I - consider a crossover audience.

And he uploaded a video two days ago.

And it already has a thousand-ish views.

So there's a, what that indicates is that there's a decent number of people in his audience who even though he has way more followers there's a decent number of people in his audience who actually are, notified and come and watch new content when he posts it.

So it doesn't necessarily mean that these types of - people have been around the longest or even have the most subscribers, but they're the ones who are the most relevant in terms of it being up to date and fresh and that people are watching it.

(29:07):

So those are the two people I want you to be watching that are in the same space as you.

And here's what I learned.

So when you're uploading, when you're uploading videos, you can do, you can do a little bit of research in terms of the hang on.

Maybe I didn't explain this well enough before I jumped into it, the way, the way that YouTube will rank will, make sure that your videos are seen is you actually have to put in keywords that are tags.

I mean YouTube calls, them tags when you upload the video you have to tag it with keywords.

Now, if you upload it and put no keywords, I don't know even what would happen then I'm not even sure what would happen then I'm not sure that it would never be seen, but it would not be seen very much because then YouTube doesn't know - well, when they're searching for career coaching or whatever, if yours isn't even tagged as career coaching, yours is definitely not going to show up.

(30:03):

Unless you're just driving a ton of traffic to your YouTube channel in some other way, but that's not what we're talking about here.

What we're talking about here is using YouTube to get new people into your world.

You can do some research on tags that is a little bit more we're going to call it traditional.

This is the traditional way.

That there's a, there's a an app called Tube Buddy.

And I have heard of it. I haven't used it again. I've learned some of these new things just from Caitlin Strempel in the past few days.

And so I'm going to be testing this along with y'all.

Tube Buddy is a place where you can type in type in your main keyword, career coaching, in our example, and then seeing what are the other related keywords around there that do get, you want something that has decent search volume, because if nobody's searching for it, then it doesn't matter if your video is the only one that has that keyword.

(30:59):

Because I was looking for that.

So you want it to be something that has decent search volume, but also Tube Buddy or there are other, there are other SEO tools as well.

It will tell you - how hard it is to rank for that keyword, because something, as basic as career coaching is going to probably be very difficult to rank, a video at least quickly for but something a little bit more specific career coaching for retiring entrepreneurs.

I mean, I don't know, I don't know why I said that, but that would be very, that would be much more specific and might have it doesn't have to have the highest search volume, but if it has some search volume and not a lot of competition, what that means is, if you are tagging your video with that phrase, and you can put a lot of tags in you don't only have to do one.

(31:51):

If you're tagging your video with that phrase, then you are likely to be on the first, top 10 results.

And which is good because as going back to what you're saying, you want - we're not doing this for nothing.

You want to get the feedback quickly that people are watching it and people are, thumbs up or subscribing or whatever, or you're driving them back to in the caption you're using that opportunity.

Whether they're subscribing to your YouTube channel or not, I actually ultimately doesn't matter, but are you driving them back?

Because they're interested in this content, you driving them back to a lead magnet, opt-in back to your website your Facebook page, whatever, your call to action is.

So once you see that this works, it's motivating, because you want to keep doing it.

(32:32):

So that's why all this matters.

So the, traditional tag research, you can just search for trending keywords in a, in a tool Tube Buddy.

But here was the thing that literally blew my mind because it did not ever, I never knew this and I never even thought about this.

We're talking about, we're talking about hang, let me try to think of the simplest way to explain this.

If you guys are on YouTube and as you can search for things and you get a list of search results.

Once you're watching a video, you guys know, on the right hand side of the screen, it'll say up next or, suggested videos, essentially that area is - has a different algorithm than the search results, essentially.

(33:26):

I mean, that might not be entirely true, but that's an easy way to - think about it.

That area is showing suggested videos based on how similar the tags are to the video that is being watched.

Let me repeat that one more time.

It's not showing videos that are based on what the tag was that the person was searching for.

It's showing other videos that have tags MOST similar to the tags are to the video that is currently being watched.

So let's say you can, you can pull up the video in your niche that has the 10 million views that's been out for seven years.

Let's Marie Forleo, she'll be an awesome example because she has tons of <laugh> YouTube subscribers.

She's been around forever.

She has tons of content, tons of content, but you would - consider it - it's always relevant, meaning it's evergreen.

(34:17):

It's not she has great tips on all kinds of things that are never out of date.

So that's why a lot of those videos have been viewed so many times and will continue to show up really well in the search results, because they're considered highly relevant for - let's say career coaching for entrepreneurs or whatever.

So on - that one - and again, you can do this on multiple videos, not just one, but you would take her video as an example of somebody who has this awesome content in the niche.

Or you can find somebody who is, it could also still be Marie Forleo, it doesn't matter.

Or you could find somebody else who is similar in that niche who uploads regular content and it's new and she doesn't have to be she he or she has a lot of subscribers and they upload really you've seen that they uploaded today, yesterday or the day before that, and that they are doing regular content, three or four times a week.

(35:12):

Those people, we said, their, views might, are not going to be up in the millions away, but they're getting eyes on their videos consistently.

1. You have your competitors that have the big followers that have, that are going to keep getting views forever because they're freaking famous.

2. And then you have your other people who just pump out a lot of content.

So those are the two, those are the two people I want you to be looking for, because what you want to do is if you want to rank your new videos, your brand new videos with your brand new YouTube channel in your...

So if you want your new channel to rank next to those awesome videos, you can do that by not worrying about what the trending tags are, but just literally getting the same tags that they have on that video and posting it as the tags on your video.

(36:09):

And there is a way to do that.

That is literally the most ninja trick ever.

And it's totally legal.

Don't worry.

But here's the thing is that you can't see, when you post tags on your video, it's not public.

It's just for,YouTube's search information.

So the way that you have to do that, and again, I'm, going to give you Caitlin Strempel's guide on this, but it doesn't require any special app or anything.

When you go to the video that you want to copy and paste the tags for, because you want your video to be show up as the next similar one.

You go to the video page on YouTube, pause it, you click and you click view page source.

And then what happens is a second window or a second tab is going to pop up in your browser.

(36:55):

That is just code, a wall of text that doesn't make any sense.

And but if you do control F or go to your, whatever browser you're using and click find, whatever, anyway, maybe you already know what your shortcut is for that.

Mine is control F go into find, or you search that you search that text and that page for the word keywords, and it will go down and it will highlight the word keywords.

And then following that exactly after that is all of the tags that person tagged their video with.

And you can highlight it, copy it, and paste it, take it over to your video that you're uploading and boom, those are your tags.

You - if there's something that's totally irrelevant, you can delete it.

But what you want is, again, what we're trying to do is just rank on the next suggested videos.

(37:50):

It's not really about whether those tags are all perfect for your entire business or your entire YouTube channel.

Does that make sense?

It again, the suggested videos are ranked entirely on how similar the tags are to the video that is being watched.

So you want to be strategic obviously about the ones that you are trying to mirror, we're going to call it mirroring.

Anyway, you're trying to match up or mirror those videos.

So that the audience that is watching, say, I've said this guy this guy who's posting new content every other day hit his, some of his audience that is always showing up and watching his videos.

I want to show up in that right-hand side.

Ooh, I just got to hang on.

So I got a, I got a notification from the other page that Dana has a question and I'm not seeing it because Dana, I can only see the comments from <laugh>.

(38:57):

I can only see the comments from the Jen Kilbourne Obermeier page.

So I promise I'll follow up and I'll answer your question.

But I was afraid if I clicked it, that it would end this video and that would be terrible.

So let's recap one more time.

Number one.

If any of this was confusing, I'm going to share this resource from Caitlin Strempel.

It's just, it's just a freebie PDF that she allowed me to share with my audience for free, because she's amazing.

I do use her services.

So if you are looking for somebody to manage all of this in the back end, she and her team are a very trusted part of my business.

And in case you're wondering what I'm still spending money on, in business.

Uh - really I'm not, I'm, not scaling back much of anything, but I'm definitely not letting go of her and her services because again, SEO for your website.

(39:42):

And she does everything for our website as well.

So this is not just about YouTube SEO for your website and for your YouTube and whatever it is that you are putting out there.

This is your free way to start claiming the invisible land on the Internet.

I said that in the very first video that I did a couple weeks ago, I was - so it's - there's this invisible, real estate.

And it's expanding constantly because there really is as much room as there needs to be for people who are putting out good content on almost any topic.

So it doesn't matter if there's a lot of competition - it does not matter, if there are a lot of competitors in this niche that you're going into, you do not have to be the first one that ever came up with an idea to be able to talk about it and share it and build a following and build a real business.

(40:28):

So yeah, totally just hitting, home with that again.

I am not sharing all this stuff because I am some million dollar overnight guru.

I just, I have a very normal size income with a completely online business.

And so I think that it's worth telling people that, you don't have to get scared off by people who are - I will teach you how to make a hundred thousand dollars a month from your blog.

And it's - you get really disheartened because you think, well, that must be for somebody special, not for me.

And I'm trying to tell y'all I'm not special.

So if I can do this, I promise all of you guys can do this.

So I know if you, if YouTube and SEO is a thing for you you're definitely going to be interested in following up on that.

(41:12):

So I will post the link to her little guidebook immediately, and then I know SEO for blogging and some of those other things that's, that was another requested topic.

So I think we'll come back in touch on that another day since I didn't know, I was going to be preaching a bunch at the beginning.

But I hope that this really made, again, I hope that this made a difference for y'all and open your eyes a little bit on, into how you can get that feedback quickly, stand out more immediately and not feel you're making videos and only the crickets and your mom are listening.

<laugh> This is where I struggle to cut myself off.

Promise if I didn't catch your question on the chat, I will jump back on now and go back through the comments.

I appreciate all of you guys being here and we'll do another video tomorrow.
